I lied in the heading.
One is a trio.
Kind of. Sort of.
Cinder & Kai (The Lunar Chronicles) – Marissa Meyer
If you haven’t read The Lunar Chronicles, I have a separate post where I have introduced it properly. It is a fairy tale retelling based on Cinderella and each book in the tetralogy is inspired by a different fairy tale.
I like Cinder and Kai because of how supportive and understanding they are of each other and their roles. They lift each other up and are even when they are apart, inspire strength to one another.
Cress & Thorne (The Lunar Chronicles) – Marissa Meyer
Cress and Thorne are the focus of book #3 in The Lunar Chronicles series and the most relate-able of them all. She has been in captivity on a satellite since she was seven and the first hot guy she meets, she falls for. No! Even before they had met, she believed with all her heart that they were meant to be. So obviously, it doesn’t work out that way.
Cress is sweet and bubble and a complete dork and Thorne is handsome and he knows it. So much so that you’ll want to punch him in the face at times. In a totally humorous matter, of course. You can’t hate any of these characters. NOT EVEN JACIN! You’ll know who that is when you’ve read Cress.
Celaena & Sam (Throne Of Glass) – Sarah J Maas
You don’t read The Assassin’s Blade without having read Throne of Glass first. Right off the bat, there is no confusion in Throne of Glass that Sam is dead. For good. Which makes these prequel novellas so god damn painful to read. I tried not to fall in love with this guy, I really did. But Sarah’s lured me in again.
He’s the only guy who ever really got Celaena and all the other relationships were good while they lasted but none of them had this kind of magic.
Magnus & Alec (The Mortal Instruments) – Cassandra Clare
Alec is a classic closet case and kind of boring at times but Magnus is always the life of the party. Just like their personality, Magnus’ crazy outfits are a sharp contrast to Alec’s all black attire. They compliment each other, which is why they’re perfect together. Magnus encourages Alec to loosen up and Alec encourages Magnus to focus on what’s important.
Feyre & Rhysand (ACOTAR) – Sarah J Maas
This section contains SPOILERS for ACOMAF and ACOTAR.
After Rhysand basically imprinted on Feyre at the end of ACOTAR, I was expecting this turn of events. What I didn’t expect was that Rhysand would be so gentle and kind. There is a whole another side to him which is not suppressed but purposely hidden. He has his reasons for everything and I have never read about a more redeemable character that this guy.
I’m so glad he didn’t turn out to be just another ‘Bad Guy’ with a gentle side that only the protagonist can see. That trope is overdone. I need a Rhysand in my life.
Will & Tessa & Jem (The Infernal Devices) – Cassandra Clare
One is the typical bad boy with a reason and the other is the typical good guy who doesn’t stand a chance. Or that would be the case if this were just another sappy romance novel trilogy.
This book took that trope and put a twist on it and I just couldn’t be more satisfied with how things turned out in the end. Both the boys had their own charms and however will a girl chose one over the other? Will is passionate and charming while Jem is sweet and kind. Honestl, I really could see Tessa ending up with either of them.
I did have a preference of course. I liked Will over Jem while reading but that was only because he was introduced first as a romantic interest. But lately, I’ve been looking back on things and I can’t help but think that Jem was the best fit for Tessa. I don’t even know what to do with that which is why I totally understand Cassie’s decision to end the series like she did.

Tris & Four (Divergent) – Veronica Roth
I’m so glad that there weren’t any love triangles in this relationship. Tris and Four were perfect for each other. From the very beginning, Four truly saw her for her true potential and helped her rise to it. I love this type of relationships. They’re more believable and hence more relate-able and lovable.
I would be lying if I said that I’ve never fantasized about a hot instructor. Tris is one lucky girl!
…and Theo James, guys!
Anna & St. Clair (Anna and the French Kiss) – Stephanie Perkins
“French name, English accent, American school. Anna confused.” St. Clair had his flaws and they had me pulling at my hair at times but he was my first fictional boyfriend so I’m willing to forgive him for just about anything. These two started off as friends… kind of. Okay, there was always some chemistry but at least they
St. Clair had his flaws and they had me pulling at my hair at times but he was my first fictional boyfriend so I’m willing to forgive him for just about anything. These two started off as friends… kind of. Okay, there was always some chemistry but at least they tried.
From movies and museums dates in France to cute emails and phone calls in the States… theirs was a whirlwind romance that broke hearts in its own rights. And even though I did not need the sequels, it was fun knowing that they were inseparable forever after. Goals.
Holly & Gerry (P.S. I Love You) – Cecelia Ahern
I can’t relate to this story in any way and God I wish nobody else has to either but the kind of romance they had, just took my breath away. The letters that Gerry wrote to Holly in order to help her recover from his own death were heartbreakingly good. I wish everybody got to experience that level of care and affection in their lives. To have somebody understand who are. Know you that well and love you for all that you are.
Allie & Noah (The Notebook) – Nicholas Sparks
You saw this one coming. I finished this book just a couple of days ago to get in the mood (you can say) for valentines day since I’m going to spend it with my friends. At this point, I wouldn’t have it any other way but GOD this makes me wish I had a Noah to hold on to. Why are they perfect together? I can’t say. Not when Noah is reading that book.
If you have read The Notebook, do you remember that nurse who had a lawyer for a husband and always followed the rules but still let Noah slip? I would be that woman every single time I talked to either of these two. Just a sobbing mess.
A beautiful couple that got to make a lifetime of memories and we are extremely privileged to have gotten a peak.
I bet we all know an Allie and Noah. The kind of couple who didn’t like distance or time get in the way of their love. If not, don’t worry too much. Maybe you will be lucky enough to experience that in your lifetime.
It’s the season of love and I’ve got my fingers crossed for you.
Spread the love:
